In 2018, IBRAC released Merger Control in Brazil – Frequently Asked Questions, addressing the main issues related to merger control following the entry into force of Law No. 12,529/2011. Building on that initiative, this new publication shifts the focus to conduct enforcement, a field of Brazilian competition law that has experienced significant development and refinement in recent years.
The book aims to present and discuss the key achievements in conduct investigations and enforcement, offering practical insights and lessons drawn from case law and real-world practice. It serves as a reference for professionals seeking a deeper understanding of how Brazilian antitrust authorities have addressed anticompetitive conduct over time.
The work brings together contributions from IBRAC associates — including lawyers and economists with extensive experience in antitrust matters — as well as officials from the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), who share their perspectives on relevant aspects of conduct investigations and enforcement.
